Discover The Urantia Book \Papers\Intermediate \Ministering Spirits of the Superuniverses
Ministering spirits of the superuniverses include mighty messengers, counselors, and recorders. These beings support justice, enlightenment, and soul progress, working in harmony to guide ascenders toward divine and universe service.
Reading Level:
This Paper examines the ministering spirits that serve in the seven superuniverses, focusing primarily on the seconaphim, with briefer discussions of tertiaphim and omniaphim. The seconaphim are created by the Reflective Spirits and serve as vital communication links throughout the superuniverses, allowing instantaneous reflection of information across vast cosmic distances. They function as living mirrors that enable the efficient administration of the superuniverses.
The seconaphim are divided into three orders—primary, secondary, and tertiary—each with seven specialized types that perform unique functions. Primary seconaphim serve the Ancients of Days, secondary seconaphim assist the Trinity-origin administrators, and tertiary seconaphim work with ascending Trinitized Sons. These angelic ministers become increasingly important to ascending mortals as they progress through the superuniverse, providing guidance, teaching, and assistance during the journey toward Paradise.
The seconaphim function as the angelic hosts of the superuniverses, just as supernaphim serve in the central universe and seraphim operate in the local universes. Although similar to supernaphim in their divine nature and potential, seconaphim serve different roles and work with different entities. Their reflective abilities make them uniquely qualified for their responsibilities in the vast superuniverses.
The ministering spirits described in this Paper include seconaphim, tertiaphim, and omniaphim. Since tertiaphim and omniaphim are not directly involved with the ascendant scheme of mortal progression, they receive only brief attention before the more detailed exploration of seconaphim. Technically, neither tertiaphim nor omniaphim are true ministering spirits of the superuniverses, though they do serve as spirit ministers within these domains.
These high angels are officially registered at superuniverse headquarters, though they primarily serve in local creations. Tertiaphim are direct children of the Infinite Spirit, personalized on Paradise in groups of one thousand. These supernal beings with divine originality and near-supreme versatility are given by the Infinite Spirit as gifts to the Creator Sons.
When a Michael Son prepares to embark on the universe adventure of space, the Infinite Spirit delivers a group of one thousand companion spirits. These majestic tertiaphim accompany the Creator Son during universe organization and early universe building. They serve alongside the Creator Son until the personalization of the Bright Morning Star, the first-born of a local universe. After this milestone, the tertiaphim formally resign and become liaison ministers between their former Creator Son and the Ancients of Days of the respective superuniverse.
Omniaphim are created by the Infinite Spirit in collaboration with the Seven Supreme Executives. These angels exclusively serve as messengers and assistants to these same Supreme Executives. They have grand universe assignments rather than being limited to the superuniverses.
In Orvonton, the omniaphim corps maintains headquarters in the northern regions of Uversa, residing there as a special courtesy colony. They are not officially registered on Uversa nor attached to the administrative structure. These angels focus entirely on overseeing the superuniverses from the perspective of the Seven Supreme Executives, and are not directly involved with the ascendant scheme of mortal progression.
The seconaphic hosts are produced by the seven Reflective Spirits assigned to each superuniverse headquarters. They are created through a Paradise-responsive technique that always results in groups of seven: one primary, three secondary, and three tertiary seconaphim. The primary angel serves the Ancients of Days, the three secondary angels associate with Paradise-origin administrators, and the three tertiary angels work with the ascendant trinitized associates of the superuniverse rulers.
Seconaphim possess inherent reflectivity due to their creation by the Reflective Spirits. They can reflectively respond to everything associated with the Third Source and Center and the Paradise Creator Sons. However, they are not directly reflective of beings or entities originating solely from the First Source and Center. Their reflective performances provide compelling evidence for the universal presence of the infinite mind of the Conjoint Actor.
Primary seconaphim assigned to the Ancients of Days function as living mirrors for these triune rulers. They provide the extraordinary ability to instantaneously see and hear events occurring throughout the superuniverse without delay. Records, broadcasts, and messengers all have their place, but these living mirrors allow the Ancients of Days to maintain immediate and complete awareness of everything happening in their domains.
Primary seconaphim naturally incline toward seven types of service: the Voice of the Conjoint Actor, the Voice of the Seven Master Spirits, the Voice of the Creator Sons, the Voice of the Angelic Hosts, Broadcast Receivers, Transport Personalities, and the Reserve Corps. This specialization allows the Ancients of Days to receive accurate information from all sources, transport ascendant beings to Havona, and maintain a reserve force for unexpected duties. Each type performs a specific function vital to superuniverse administration.
Secondary seconaphim are equally reflective as their primary counterparts. The designations of primary, secondary, and tertiary indicate their order of procedure rather than any difference in status or function. These angels are assigned to the co-ordinate Trinity-origin associates of the Ancients of Days, serving as specialized reflective assistants.
The seven reflective types of secondary seconaphim are distributed as follows: three types (Voices of Wisdom, Souls of Philosophy, and Unions of Souls) serve the Perfectors of Wisdom; three types (Hearts of Counsel, Joys of Existence, and Satisfactions of Service) assist the Divine Counselors; and one type (Discerners of Spirits) works with the Universal Censors. Each type offers unique reflective abilities that aid their superiors in making informed decisions, from accessing the accumulated wisdom of the universe to discerning the true motives and character of any individual.
Tertiary seconaphim are created serially like their fellows, manifesting in seven reflective types. Unlike the other orders, they are not individually assigned to specific administrators but are collectively allocated to the Trinitized Sons of Attainment. These ascendant sons use the tertiary seconaphim interchangeably in their various responsibilities.
The seven types of tertiary seconaphim include: the Significance of Origins, who maintain living genealogical records; the Memory of Mercy, who keep track of the spiritual accounts of individuals; the Import of Time, who help beings use time wisely; the Solemnity of Trust, who evaluate trustworthiness; the Sanctity of Service, who reveal the true nature of service; and the paired reflectors, the Secret of Greatness and the Soul of Goodness, who work together because greatness and goodness are inseparable divine qualities. These angels play crucial roles in the judicial, ethical, and developmental aspects of superuniverse administration.
Seconaphim operate throughout the superuniverses, from Paradise to the evolutionary worlds of space. They provide valuable assistance to the deliberative assemblies of supergovernments and help the courtesy colonies on Uversa, including star students, tourists, observers, and ascending beings awaiting Havona transport. The Ancients of Days assign primary seconaphim to assist ascending creatures studying on the 490 worlds surrounding Uversa.
Of the three orders, tertiary seconaphim provide the most extensive ministry to ascending creatures of time. Mortals encounter these angels shortly after departing their native planets, though they don't fully utilize their services until reaching the waiting worlds of Orvonton. These seconaphim function as time-savers, space-abridgers, error detectors, teachers, and guides, helping pilgrims navigate moments of uncertainty. Unfortunately, Urantia cannot fully benefit from these reflective angels due to the partial spiritual quarantine affecting certain circuits necessary for their complete functioning.
