Paper 43 Overview: The Constellations

Constellations are key administrative divisions in local universes. Ruled by Most Highs, they coordinate planetary development, foster civilization, and prepare worlds for eventual spiritual enlightenment and harmony.

The Constellations
  • Summary

The constellations are the middle level of universe government between local systems and the local universe. A constellation called Norlatiadek is home to Urantia (earth), which is the 606th inhabited world in the local system of Satania. The government of Norlatiadek exists on Edentia, the main world among 771 architectural spheres.

Edentia is a beautiful world with special features like highlands, lakes, and streams that is ruled by three Most High leaders. The constellation provides training for ascending mortals, helping them learn how to work with others and develop social skills. Mortals spend time on seventy training worlds before becoming citizens of Edentia itself.

  • Introduction

Urantia is known as the 606th inhabited world in the Satania system, which is part of the Norlatiadek constellation in the local universe of Nebadon. Constellations are important divisions of a local universe, and their rulers connect local systems to the central administration of the local universe. They also have connections to higher administrators called the Ancients of Days.

The government of Norlatiadek is located on a group of 771 architectural spheres, with Edentia being the largest and most central one. Edentia is about 100 times the size of earth, while the 70 major spheres around it are about 10 times earth's size. These spheres are supervised by celestial beings including seraphim and permanent constellation citizens called univitatia.

  • 1. The Constellation Headquarters

Edentia has beautiful highlands covered with morontia life and spiritual glory, but no rugged mountains like on earth. There are thousands of sparkling lakes and interconnecting streams, but no large oceans or torrential rivers. Water circulates constantly through surface and underground systems.

Edentia has a true atmosphere with three gases, including two from earth's atmosphere plus a special morontia gas for morontia beings to breathe. There are no storms, hurricanes, or seasons, making it possible to beautify all outdoor areas. The highlands contain few human-made structures, as they are mainly enhanced with biological and morontia art.

  • 2. The Constellation Government

Constellations are self-governing units in the local universe, each with its own laws. When the courts of Nebadon make judgments about universe matters, they follow the laws of the constellation involved. Judicial decisions from Salvington and legislative acts from constellations are carried out by administrators of local systems.

Constellations make laws while local systems enforce them. The Salvington government serves as the highest judicial authority. Each constellation has two major courts: the Melchizedek council and the court of the Most High. The constellation legislature has three groups: the lower house of ascenders, the middle chamber of seraphic hosts, and the upper house of divine Sons.

  • 3. The Most Highs of Norlatiadek

The rulers of constellations are Vorondadek Sons who are called the Most Highs because they have great administrative wisdom and loyalty. In all of Nebadon's history, no Vorondadek Son has ever been disloyal. Their personal integrity and group loyalty have never been questioned.

At least three Vorondadek Sons are appointed by Gabriel as the Most Highs for each constellation in Nebadon. The leader is called the Constellation Father, and the other two are the senior Most High and junior Most High. A Constellation Father rules for 10,000 standard years (about 50,000 earth years) after serving as junior and senior associate for equal periods.

  • 4. Mount Assembly—The Faithful of Days

The most holy mountain assembly is where the Faithful of Days lives. This being is a Trinity Son from Paradise who represents the Paradise Trinity on Edentia. The Faithful of Days has been on Edentia since the headquarters world was created.

The Faithful of Days stands beside the Constellation Fathers to advise them, but only when asked. High Sons from Paradise only get involved in local universe affairs when the rulers ask them to. The Faithful of Days' home is the constellation center for communication and intelligence from Paradise, connecting with others of their order throughout the universes.

  • 5. The Edentia Fathers since the Lucifer Rebellion

The rotation of Most Highs on Edentia stopped when the Lucifer rebellion happened. The same rulers from that time are still in service today. It seems no changes will be made until Lucifer and his associates are finally dealt with.

The current constellation government has been expanded to include twelve Sons of the Vorondadek order. These include the Constellation Father (number 617,318 of the Vorondadek series), the senior and junior Most High associates, and nine other important officials who handle special duties related to the aftermath of the rebellion and supervising the isolated worlds.

  • 6. The Gardens of God

The system capitals are beautified with material and mineral constructions, while universe headquarters show spiritual glory. The constellation capitals, however, are the peak of morontia activities and living decorations. On constellation headquarters worlds, living decorations are commonly used.

About half of Edentia is devoted to the beautiful gardens of the Most Highs, which are among the most attractive morontia creations in the local universe. This explains why beautiful places on inhabited worlds in Norlatiadek are often called "the garden of Eden." In the center of this magnificent garden is the worship shrine of the Most Highs.

  • 7. The Univitatia

Univitatia are the permanent citizens of Edentia and its associated worlds, with all seven hundred seventy worlds being under their supervision. These children of the Creator Son and Creative Spirit exist between the material and spiritual planes but are not morontia creatures. The natives of each major sphere have different visible forms.

Spiritually, all univitatia are alike, but intellectually they vary like mortals. In form, they resemble morontia existence and are created to function in seventy different personality orders. Each of these orders shows ten major variations of intellectual activity, and each of these variations oversees training on one of the satellites around each major Edentia world.

  • 8. The Edentia Training Worlds

The physical endowment of Edentia and its surrounding spheres is nearly perfect. They may not equal the spiritual grandeur of the Salvington spheres, but they far surpass the beauty of the training worlds of Jerusem. All these Edentia spheres receive energy directly from universal space currents.

The time spent on the seventy training worlds of transition morontia culture is the most settled period in an ascending mortal's career until they reach finaliter status. This is truly the typical morontia life. While passing from one major cultural world to another, you keep the same morontia body, and there are no periods of unconsciousness.

  • 9. Citizenship on Edentia

After graduating from world number seventy, ascending mortals begin living on Edentia. Ascenders now attend the "assemblies of Paradise" for the first time and hear about their far-reaching career as described by the Faithful of Days, the first Supreme Trinity-origin Personality they have met.

The entire stay on the constellation training worlds, ending with Edentia citizenship, is a time of true heavenly happiness for morontia progressors. Throughout your time on system worlds, you evolved from a near-animal to a morontia creature, being more material than spiritual. On the Salvington spheres, you will evolve from a morontia being to a true spirit, becoming more spiritual than material.
