The Infinite Spirit creates seraphim, or angels, who serve throughout the universe in many different ways. These angels are divided into seven main groups based on their abilities and roles: Supreme Seraphim, Superior Seraphim, Supervisor Seraphim, Administrator Seraphim, Planetary Helpers, Transition Ministers, and Seraphim of the Future.
Angels can grow and learn through experience, just like humans do. Although they start with certain abilities, they can train and gain new skills to serve in different roles throughout the universe. The highest goal for many seraphim is to become guardians of human souls and to help guide them toward Paradise.
The Infinite Spirit creates seraphim (angels) that start out with different abilities, although the reason for these differences is unknown. After their education and training, all seraphim are sorted into seven clear groups based on their abilities and functions. These groups are Supreme Seraphim, Superior Seraphim, Supervisor Seraphim, Administrator Seraphim, Planetary Helpers, Transition Ministers, and Seraphim of the Future.
Although one type of seraphim is not considered better than another, angels can improve their skills through experience. Every seraphim begins serving in their original group, but through study and experience, they can learn to serve in other ways too. Many angels, especially those with higher abilities, try to serve in the lower orders to gain more experience and to help others on their spiritual journey.
Supreme seraphim are the highest of the seven angel orders in the local universe. They work in seven different groups, each connected to the Seraphic Corps of Completion.
These groups include Son-Spirit Ministers who serve high beings, Bestowal Attendants who help with missions to planets, and Court Advisers who ensure fair judgment with mercy. The other groups are Universe Orientators, Teaching Counselors, Directors of Assignment, and Unattached Ministers, all serving important roles in the universe.
Superior seraphim are in charge of important activities in the local universe. Their name doesn't mean they are better than other angels, just that they handle higher activities.
The seven groups of superior seraphim include the Intelligence Corps who gather information, the Voice of Mercy who promote compassion, and Spirit Co-ordinators who help with spiritual transitions. The remaining groups are Assistant Teachers, Transporters, Recorders, and Reserves, each performing specialized functions throughout the universe.
Supervisor seraphim exclusively serve the constellations of the local universe. They have headquarters on constellation capitals but work throughout Nebadon to help their assigned realms.
These angels serve in seven groups: Supervising Assistants who help unify constellations, Law Forecasters who predict how laws will affect freewill beings, and Social Architects who improve relationships. The other groups include Ethical Sensitizers, Transporters, Recorders, and Reserves, each with specific responsibilities in constellation affairs.
Administrator seraphim manage the affairs of local systems. They are naturally gifted with administrative abilities and assist leaders in the lower divisions of universe government.
These angels work in seven groups: Administrative Assistants who help System Sovereigns, Justice Guides who ensure fair trials, and Interpreters of Cosmic Citizenship who teach new citizens about responsibilities. Other groups include Quickeners of Morality, Transporters, Recorders, and Reserves, each serving important functions within system administration.
Planetary Helpers primarily serve the Planetary Adams who help uplift the material races on evolutionary worlds. On Urantia, most were removed when the Adamic regime collapsed, but some still serve in seven groups.
These groups include the Voices of the Garden, Spirits of Brotherhood, Souls of Peace, and Spirits of Trust, who help improve human civilization in different ways. The remaining groups are Transporters, Recorders, and Reserves, who handle movement between worlds, keep records, and stand ready to serve where needed.
Transition ministers help beings move from material to spiritual status. These angels currently focus on educating surviving mortals on the seven mansion worlds.
They serve in seven different assignments: Seraphic Evangels, Racial Interpreters, Mind Planners, Morontia Counselors, Technicians, Recorder-Teachers, and Ministering Reserves. More information about their work is provided in narratives about the mansion worlds and morontia life.
These angels don't serve much except in older realms and more advanced planets of Nebadon. Many are kept in reserve on seraphic worlds near Salvington, preparing for the eventual age of light and life in Nebadon.
Since they aren't directly involved with either Urantia or humans at present, details about their fascinating activities are not provided. They primarily work with mortals who survive through modified forms of ascension.
Seraphim are created in local universes, and some achieve their destiny in these same realms. With help from archangels, some seraphim may become Brilliant Evening Stars, but Seraphington remains the eternal goal for all angels.
Seraphim can reach Paradise in many ways, but three main paths are highlighted. They can gain admission through perfect specialized service, be summoned to Seraphington under certain conditions, or become guardian angels to ascend with mortals. Guardian angels, called guardians of destiny, are drawn from experienced angels who have qualified for this special service.
After reaching the Father of spirits, angels may join the seraphic service of completion and be assigned to worlds settled in light and life. These angels have overcome the divinity differences that previously separated them from central and superuniverse ministering spirits.
Many completion seraphim return to their native universes to add experiential perfection to divine endowment. Nebadon, being a young universe, has fewer of these returned graduates than older realms, but they provide essential services as worlds approach the status of light and life. Completion seraphim most desire to serve as bestowal attendants to incarnated Paradise Sons, helping mortal creatures start their journey toward Paradise.
