Paper 36 Overview: The Life Carriers

Life does not appear by itself on planets. The Life Carriers design, transport, and plant life on worlds according to plans made by higher beings. They stay on these worlds for long periods to help life develop properly. The Life Carriers are among the most interesting members of the universe family of Sons, responsible for bringing life to new worlds and helping it grow.

Life is given to planets in specific ways designed by higher beings. Life Carriers bring the physical patterns of life, but the Universe Mother Spirit provides the vital spark that makes it truly alive. These Life Carriers are special Sons who work with plants and animals until beings with free will appear, then they must stop interfering with natural evolution.

Life does not start by itself on planets. It is built according to plans made by special architects and is brought to planets by the Life Carriers. These Life Carriers design creatures, plant life on new worlds, and stay for long periods to help life develop. They are interesting and adaptable members of the universe family of Sons who are trusted with designing and carrying life to new worlds.

Life Carriers are a special type of universe Son with a unique origin. They are created by three beings: the Creator Son, the Universe Mother Spirit, and one of the three Ancients of Days. These Ancients of Days can decide when intelligent life ends, and they help create the Life Carriers who establish physical life on developing worlds.

In the universe of Nebadon, there are one hundred million Life Carriers who bring life to planets. This group is directed by three leaders: Gabriel, the Father Melchizedek, and Nambia, the first Life Carrier of Nebadon. Life Carriers are divided into three main groups: senior Life Carriers, assistants, and custodians, with the senior carriers divided into twelve specialist groups.

The Melchizedeks oversee a group of seven primary spheres in the Salvington circuit, which are the Life Carrier worlds. These seven worlds are: the Life Carrier headquarters, the life-planning sphere, the life-conservation sphere, the sphere of life evolution, the sphere of life associated with mind, the sphere of mind and spirit in living beings, and the sphere of unrevealed life.

Each of these primary worlds has six satellites where special phases of Life Carrier activities take place. The first world, the headquarters, along with its satellites is devoted to studying universal life in all its forms. The second world is for life designing, where new types of life are created. There are over one million basic chemical formulas that form the building blocks of life.

Life does not appear by itself in the universes. The Life Carriers must start it on barren planets. They bring, spread, and protect life as it appears on developing worlds. All life forms known on Urantia come from these Sons, although not all possible life forms exist on Urantia.

The team of Life Carriers sent to plant life on a new world usually has one hundred senior carriers, one hundred assistants, and one thousand custodians. Life Carriers sometimes bring actual life material to a new world, but not always. They may instead organize life patterns after arriving, following approved formulas, which is how life began on Urantia.

In every local system of inhabited worlds in Nebadon, there is a single sphere where Melchizedeks have worked as life carriers. These worlds are known as system midsonite worlds. On each one, a specially modified Melchizedek Son has mated with a selected Daughter of material sonship.

The children of a Melchizedek life carrier and a Material Daughter are called midsoniters. The Melchizedek father eventually leaves the planet of his special life function. The Mother Eve of this special group also leaves when the seventh generation of planetary offspring appears. The direction of the world then goes to her oldest son.

The seven adjutant mind-spirits influence the course of organic evolution on primitive worlds. They explain why evolution has a purpose and is not accidental. These adjutants come from the Universe Mother Spirit and are her personal service to material minds.

The seven adjutant mind-spirits are called: intuition, understanding, courage, knowledge, counsel, worship, and wisdom. They send out their influence to all inhabited worlds, each looking for a capacity to show itself apart from how much the others find reception. The Life Carriers can tell how well the adjutants are working on a planet by checking their lodgings on the Life Carrier headquarters.

Life is both mechanical and spiritual, material and spiritual. Earth scientists will continue to learn about the physical forms of plant and animal life, but they will never be able to make living organisms. Life is different from all energy forms, and the material life of physical creatures is not naturally part of matter.

Material things can exist on their own, but life comes only from life. Mind comes only from pre-existing mind, and spirit comes only from spirit ancestors. A creature might produce the forms of life, but only a creator personality or creative force can supply the living spark that activates it.
