Paper 117 Overview: God the Supreme

God the Supreme represents the highest manifestation of Deity that finite creatures can comprehend and experience in the evolutionary universes. The Supreme Being is both an evolving and experiential Deity who develops through the combined experiences of all creatures and Creators throughout the grand universe. Through this progressive evolution, the Supreme becomes the bridge between the finite realms and higher levels of reality.

The Supreme Being provides meaning to our mortal existence by giving cosmic significance to our choices and actions. As mortals participate in doing the will of God and grow spiritually, they directly contribute to the actualization of the Supreme. The relationship between creatures and the Supreme is reciprocal – we help the Supreme evolve while the Supreme helps us understand and experience Deity on a finite level that we can comprehend.

When we do the will of God in our universe stations, we help actualize the almighty potential of the Supreme Being. God's will originates with the First Source and Center, gets potentialized in the three Absolutes, personalized in the Eternal Son, joined for universe action in the Infinite Spirit, and eternalized in Paradise patterns. The Supreme is becoming the highest finite manifestation of this total will of God.

If all inhabitants of the grand universe were to fully live according to God's will, the time-space creations would achieve the settled state of light and life. The Almighty potential of Supremacy would then become factual with the emergence of the divine personality of God the Supreme. As evolutionary minds attune to cosmic mind, as evolving universes stabilize according to the central universe pattern, and as ascending mortals align with their indwelling Thought Adjusters, the Supreme becomes more actualized in the universes.

The Supreme embodies the beauty of physical harmony, the truth of intellectual meaning, and the goodness of spiritual value. He represents the sweetness of true success and the joy of everlasting achievement. As the oversoul of the grand universe, the Supreme constitutes the consciousness of the finite cosmos, the completion of finite reality, and the personification of Creator-creature experience throughout all future eternity.

In the Supreme Being, the Creator and creature are united in one Deity whose will expresses a divine personality. This will of the Supreme transcends both creature and Creator will, just as the sovereign will of a Master Son exceeds the combination of divine and human wills. The evolving divine nature of the Supreme faithfully portrays the matchless experiences of all creatures and Creators in the grand universe. The Supreme expresses truth, beauty, and goodness as the maximum ideational experience possible on finite levels of existence.

The Supreme is God-in-time, holding the secret of creature growth and the conquest of the incomplete present to achieve the perfected future. The culminating consequence of all finite growth is power controlled through mind by spirit by virtue of the unifying presence of personality. To mortal humans, existence itself is equivalent to growth, but this current pattern of growth that characterizes creature existence is a function of the Supreme.

This pattern of growth is unique to the present universe age and will end when the Supreme completes his own development. Creature-trinitized sons, unlike ascending mortals, do not participate in the experiential growth of the present universe age. They appear to be reserved for the next universe age that will follow the completion of the Supreme's growth. However, evolutionary mortals who aspire to Paradise attainment and finaliter status actively participate in the Supreme's growth cycle, which is essential for their destiny achievement.

The Supreme Being is the complex synthesis of all phases of finite reality, combining diverse aspects of eternal energy, divine spirit, and universal mind into a coherent whole. He represents the sum total of all finite growth, fully realized on deity levels of finite maximum completion. The Supreme functions as the divine channel through which the creative infinity of the triodities flows, forming the cosmic panorama against which the drama of spirit conquering energy-matter unfolds.

Just as Jesus described himself as "the living way" from the material level to spiritual consciousness, the Supreme serves as the living pathway from finite consciousness to transcendence. The Creator Son functions as a living channel from humanity to divinity after personally experiencing the full traversal of universe progression. Similarly, the Supreme functions as the universe approach to transcending finite limitations, being the actual embodiment and personal epitome of all creature evolution, progression, and spiritualization.

The Supreme Being, as finite Deity, must cope with the problems of the finite in the total sense of that word. Our struggles with time in space evolutions reflect his efforts to achieve self-realization and completion of sovereignty. Throughout the grand universe, the Supreme struggles for expression, with his divine evolution in part dependent on the wisdom-action of every personality in existence.

When a human chooses eternal survival, they become a cocreator of destiny, helping the Supreme find increased self-realization and expanded sovereignty. Conversely, when someone rejects the eternal career, that part of the Supreme dependent on their choice experiences unavoidable delay. The unique personality of a nonascender returns to the Supreme like a drop of water returns to the sea. Though individual human personalities may seem insignificant compared to the whole of Supremacy, each represents an irreplaceable meaning-value in the finite universe.

The Supreme is the cosmic oversoul of the grand universe, reflecting all qualities and quantities of the cosmos in his deity nature. He is an actualizing Deity embodying a creative will that embraces an evolving universe purpose. When a creature submits to the Creator's will, they don't surrender their personality but rather progressively enhance it through participation in this great Deity adventure.

The evolving immortal soul of man, jointly created by the material mind and the Adjuster, ascends to Paradise and eventually becomes allied with the spirit-gravity circuit through a technique known as finaliter transcendation. A progressing personality leaves a trail of actualized reality as it passes through the ascending levels of the universes. When humans act, the Supreme reacts, and this transaction constitutes progression. Though creatures utilize the circuits of energy, mind, and spirit in their universe ascent, they never possess these ministries as part of their eternal personality.

We seek the Supreme throughout the universes but cannot yet fully find him. The Almighty Supreme is described as "the form of the yet unformed, the pattern of the yet uncreated." The Supreme represents your universe home, and finding him will feel like returning home. He knows you intimately because he is both creaturelike and creatorlike, functioning as your experiential parent.

If you truly desire to find God, you cannot help having the consciousness of the Supreme born in your mind. As God is your divine Father, the Supreme is your divine Mother, nurturing you throughout your life as a universe creature. For evolutionary creatures, there are seven great approaches to the Universal Father, each passing through one of the Seven Master Spirits. Despite our current inability to personally discover the Supreme, our Paradise ascent gradually creates in our consciousness the recognition of his universe presence and cosmic action.

When all finite potentials are fully realized, the Supreme will emerge as an almighty Deity presence in the universes. He will be as discretely personalized as the Eternal Son, as powerfully concrete as Paradise, and as completely unified as the Conjoint Actor – all within the limitations of finite possibilities at the culmination of the present universe age. This completed realization of all finite potentials equals the completion of the Supreme and witnesses the liberation of finite reality from incomplete existence.

Humans don't discover the Supreme suddenly or dramatically, but slowly and patiently, like a river quietly wearing away soil beneath it. When you find the Father, you find the great cause of your spiritual ascent in the universes. When you find the Supreme, you discover the great result of your Paradise progression. No God-knowing mortal ever feels lonely on their cosmic journey, for they know the Father walks beside them every step, and the very path they travel is itself the presence of the Supreme.
