Discover The Urantia Book \Papers\Easy \The Seven Superuniverses
The seven superuniverses, evolving over time, are governed by spiritual administration and divine oversight. Each contains many local universes, all gradually advancing toward harmony, light, and life under God’s cosmic plan.
Reading Level:

The seven superuniverses are huge sections of space that contain billions of inhabited worlds. These superuniverses move in an organized pattern around Paradise, which is the center of all creation. Each superuniverse has special rulers called the Ancients of Days who help govern all the worlds and systems.
The superuniverse called Orvonton is where our planet earth (Urantia) is located. Superuniverses are organized into smaller sections called major sectors, minor sectors, local universes, constellations, and local systems. Each level of organization has its own headquarters and leaders who help manage everything.
The Universal Father sees the universes in terms of the people who live in them rather than as physical places. The universes are run by the Creator Sons and Creative Spirits under the guidance of the Paradise Trinity. There are seven superuniverses that circle around Paradise, with seven Master Spirits sending their influence outward.
The seven superuniverses were organized early in the creation of the universe. Each superuniverse is governed by beings called the Ancients of Days. There are systems in place to control both physical and spiritual forces in these realms, and understanding the physical structure helps us better appreciate the spiritual organization.
The superuniverses are not randomly moving through space but following a well-planned path around the center of creation. Your solar system is part of a local universe that is moving in a counterclockwise direction around the central universe. The path is well-known to the star observers just like earth astronomers know the paths of planets.
Urantia is in a newly forming area of a local universe that isn't fully organized yet. Your planet isn't moving wildly into unknown space but following a predetermined path. All seven superuniverses travel in a giant circle, with each one currently in a different position along this path. Superuniverse seven (Orvonton), which contains earth, is moving along the northern path.
Only the Universal Father knows exactly how many inhabited worlds exist. There are approximately seven trillion inhabitable planets in the seven superuniverses plus the central universe of Havona. The organization starts with systems containing about 1,000 planets and builds up through constellations, local universes, minor sectors, and major sectors.
The universe is organized in a clear pattern where 100 systems make a constellation, 100 constellations make a local universe, 100 local universes make a minor sector, and 100 minor sectors make a major sector. Each level has special headquarters worlds and rulers. These numbers are approximate because new systems are always forming while others may temporarily cease to exist.
Most stars visible from earth with the naked eye belong to the superuniverse of Orvonton. The Milky Way forms the central part of Orvonton, which is shaped like an elongated circle. When you look at the Milky Way, you're seeing where the stars of Orvonton are most densely packed together.
Orvonton has ten major divisions, and earth's astronomers have identified eight of them. Our solar system was once part of the Andronover nebula, which was changed by a collision with another nebula. Our planet moves in multiple ways: around the sun, with our solar system around the former nebula center, and in larger movements as part of superuniverse Orvonton's journey around Paradise.
The creation of the universe follows specific rules, but there's still some mystery about how the smallest particles first formed. These basic forces come from Paradise and move through space in patterns that match Paradise's shape. Special beings called Paradise force organizers turn space energy into the materials that make up physical reality.
There are different kinds of nebulae, which are huge clouds in space that eventually form stars and planets. Some nebulae have already created thousands or millions of suns. Not all spiral nebulae are making new stars, and some have kept control of stars they created. The Milky Way galaxy contains many former nebulae, and the star clouds of Orvonton contain enormous amounts of energy.
Most matter in suns and planets comes from nebular wheels, though some comes from other sources. There are ten main ways that space bodies like stars and planets can form. These include concentric contraction rings, whirled stars, gravity-explosion planets, and several other methods.
Some planets form when a sun passes near another large body, causing explosions that send matter into space. Other planets form when fast-spinning suns throw off material, when stars split in two, or when matter slowly gathers in space. There are also dark islands that formed when suns burned out or from matter collecting in space.
There are five main types of space bodies: suns (stars), dark islands, minor space bodies (comets and meteors), planets, and architectural spheres. Except for the architectural spheres, which were specially made, all space bodies came about through natural processes as part of God's creative plan.
Suns exist in many different states, and a typical sun will give off heat and light for trillions of years. Dark islands are very dense and help balance gravity in constellations. Comets often start as uncontrolled bodies but gradually come under a sun's control. Only about one in forty cool planets can support life like that on earth, which has a nearly ideal size and location.
Each superuniverse government is located on a specially built world rather than a naturally formed planet. These headquarters worlds have special suns that give light without heat, and they get heat from energy currents near their surface. These worlds are located near the center of their superuniverses.
Time works differently on these headquarters worlds. One day on Uversa (the capital of Orvonton) equals about 30 earth days. All superuniverse headquarters worlds share some qualities with Paradise and are beautiful places. As spiritual beings move upward through the universe, they visit many architectural worlds that help prepare them for their journey to Paradise.
The headquarters of the superuniverses help control and direct energy through their sectors. Special beings called power centers and physical controllers help regulate physical energies. These controllers don't make choices but automatically perform their functions according to their design.
Energy has weight, though this changes depending on speed and other factors. There's a balance in the universe between matter and energy. If there's too much matter building up, the controllers step in, or sometimes collisions in space turn matter back into energy. Star observers can predict much of how the universe works, but it gets harder to predict things farther from Paradise.
Paradise sends circuits throughout all seven superuniverses, including the personality gravity of the Universal Father, spiritual gravity of the Eternal Son, mind gravity of the Conjoint Actor, and material gravity of Paradise Isle. There are also seven superuniverse circuits and seven local universe circuits that help connect everything.
For a local universe to join the settled circuits of its superuniverse, it needs physical stability and spiritual loyalty. The stars and planets must be in stable orbits, and all beings must recognize and be loyal to the Sovereign Son of God who rules that local universe. Our local universe of Nebadon isn't yet considered settled either physically or spiritually.
Each superuniverse is governed by three Ancients of Days who serve as chief executives. Seven groups of beings make up the executive branch of the superuniverse government. The first four groups come directly from the Paradise Trinity, while the last three are formerly mortal beings who have been elevated to these positions.
The governing council of a superuniverse includes these seven executive groups plus other rulers from major sectors, minor sectors, local universes, and constellations. Many types of beings serve in the administration, control, and judgment of the superuniverses. The seven superuniverses are completely separate from each other and only learn about each other through Paradise.
On superuniverse headquarters worlds like Uversa, perfect beings from Paradise and evolved beings from the universes work together. Each superuniverse has a legislative assembly with representatives from each local universe. These representatives are chosen from among ascending mortals who are on their way to Paradise.
In Orvonton, there has never been a disagreement between the executives and the assembly. This harmony shows that evolved beings can reach levels of wisdom that allow them to work with perfect beings. The existence of these assemblies shows the wisdom of the Universal Father's plan to allow beings to evolve.
The judicial branch of the superuniverse government consists of courts presided over by the Ancients of Days, Perfectors of Wisdom, or Divine Counselors. Universal Censors present evidence, Mighty Messengers defend evolutionary beings, and Those High in Authority represent the higher government. Those without Name and Number, along with members of the deliberative assembly, help form the verdict.
The Ancients of Days courts review spiritual decisions from lower universes. Local universe rulers make their own decisions, but cases involving the extinction of will creatures must go to the superuniverse courts. The decisions of these courts are always unanimous, and there is no appeal from their rulings in most cases.
Major sectors make up about one-tenth of a superuniverse and contain around 100 billion inhabitable worlds. They are led by three Perfections of Days who handle mostly intellectual and administrative matters. The seventy satellites of major sector Umajor the fifth focus on intellectual training for ascending mortals.
Minor sectors contain about one billion inhabitable worlds and are governed by three Recents of Days who focus on physical control and coordination. Minor sector headquarters are surrounded by seven training worlds for physical and administrative knowledge. Both major and minor sector rulers receive reports from representatives stationed throughout the universe and pass this information upward.
Each of the seven superuniverses has a unique purpose in the evolution of the universe. Orvonton, our superuniverse, is known for its merciful ministry to mortal beings and for balancing justice with mercy. It seems that Orvonton combines the six purposes of the other superuniverses into a complete meaning.
Each superuniverse is unique, and there's much about Orvonton that hasn't been revealed to us. Our planet Urantia is number 606 in the system of Satania, which is part of the constellation Norlatiadek, in the local universe of Nebadon. Nebadon is in the minor sector of Ensa, which is in the major sector of Splandon, which is in superuniverse Orvonton. Despite the enormous size of the cosmos, our world is precisely managed and lovingly cared for.
