God the Supreme
  • Summary

Paper 117 details the nature, function, and destiny of God the Supreme, who represents the culmination of finite experiential evolution and the maximum expression of Deity comprehensible to time-space creatures. The Supreme Being constitutes the evolutionary-experiential unification of the total will of God as it becomes manifest within the finite domains, serving as the personification of creature-Creator relationship and the synthesizing focus of all finite reality, growth, and experience.

The Supreme Being occupies a unique metaphysical position as both a creating and created entity, evolving through the collective experiences of all finite creatures while simultaneously providing them with a comprehensible approach to Deity. The paper explores the Supreme's relationship to individual creatures, their spiritual progression, and the cosmic mechanisms through which the Supreme actualizes, detailing how every decision, action, and experience of time-space beings contributes to the emerging reality of this finite manifestation of Deity. The Supreme represents the culmination of all evolutionary growth, the synthesis of spirit and matter through mind, and the personalization of all finite-creature experience, functioning as both the divine Mother nurturing creatures in their cosmic journey and the experiential bridge between the finite and the transcendental realms.

  • Introduction

To the extent that universal beings conform to the will of God in their respective spheres of existence, they contribute to the actualization of the almighty potential of the Supreme Being. The will of God, originating in the First Source and Center, becomes potentialized in the three Absolutes, personalized in the Eternal Son, conjoined for action in the Infinite Spirit, and eternalized in the Paradise patterns. God the Supreme represents the highest finite manifestation of this total divine will and purpose.

When all beings in the grand universe choose to live according to God's will, the realms of time and space will become fully settled in light and life. This achievement would mark the full emergence of God the Supreme as a complete and divine personality. Each step of spiritual growth, whether a mind aligning with the cosmic mind, a universe reaching stability, or a mortal attuning to the Thought Adjuster, adds to the reality of the Supreme. The Supreme Being evolves through the experiences of all individuals and worlds, while simultaneously serving as the total expression of that collective growth. In this reciprocal process, the Supreme both reflects and unifies the evolving experience of the entire grand universe.

  • 1. Nature of the Supreme Being

The Supreme embodies finite creation's paramount expressions of beauty in physical harmony, truth in intellectual meaning, and goodness in spiritual value. As the oversoul of the grand universe, the Supreme constitutes the consciousness of the finite cosmos, the completion of finite reality, and the personification of Creator-creature experience. Throughout all future eternity, God the Supreme will voice the reality of volitional experience in the trinity relationships of Deity, representing the experiential fulfillment of divinity's purpose in time and space.

In the Supreme Being, the descending God-revealing Creators and the ascending God-seeking creatures achieve mutual understanding through the discovery of universal brotherhood. The Supreme thus becomes the finite synthesis of perfect-Creator cause and perfecting-creature response. The grand universe continually seeks complete unification, a cosmic destiny made possible through the Supreme, whose reality becomes increasingly apparent as the universes approach maximum Trinity identification. The evolving divine nature of the Supreme offers a faithful portrayal of the matchless experiences of all creatures and all Creators in the grand universe, uniting creatorship and creaturehood in an everlasting synthesis born from the vicissitudes and solutions of finite creation's manifold challenges.

The Supreme represents the correlation of truth, beauty, and goodness in the Spirit's ministry, Paradise's grandeur, and the Son's mercy. The Supreme Being is both actual and potential, responsive to creature effort and Creator purpose, simultaneously functioning as the supreme creator and the supreme creature. The Deity of Supremacy thus expresses the entirety of the finite, the sum total of the vast panorama of universal experience throughout time and space.

  • 2. The Source of Evolutionary Growth

The Supreme represents God-in-time, holding the secret of creature growth in time, the conquest of the incomplete present, and the consummation of the perfecting future. The ultimate fruit of finite growth manifests as power controlled through mind by spirit through the unifying presence of personality. To mortal beings, existence equates directly with growth, as spirit-led existence results in experiential development and status enhancement, a function uniquely characteristic of the present universe age and intimately connected with the Supreme's own evolutionary progression.

The Supreme's growth dictates the developmental parameters of the present universe age, establishing the growth potential for all participating entities. However, not all beings participate equally in this growth pattern; creature-trinitized sons, for instance, exist in the present universe age but appear to belong functionally to the next universe age that follows the Supreme's completion. Trinity-embraced beings like the Mighty Messengers similarly do not participate in the present universe's growth dynamic, their status having been fixed by the Trinity embrace. Only evolutionary and experiential orders like the finaliters and mortal ascenders fully participate in the Supreme's growth cycle, their Paradise attainment and finaliter status being directly contingent on their participation in and contribution to Supremacy's evolution.

When the Supreme's growth cycle eventually concludes with the achievement of completion in the energy-spirit sense, creature evolution as part of Supremacy will simultaneously terminate. The subsequent universe age will introduce entirely different growth parameters for the outer space universes, a pattern qualitatively distinct from anything observed in the present age of the seven superuniverses. The evolutionary citizens of the grand universe will likely compensate the outer-spacers for their deprivation of Supreme growth experience, offering them unique developmental opportunities despite their existence outside the current cycle of Supremacy's evolution.

  • 3. Significance of the Supreme to Universe Creatures

The Supreme Being represents the complex universal synthesis of the emerging phases of all finite realities. He embodies the culmination of the diversification of eternal energy, divine spirit, and universal mind within the finite domain. The Supreme functions as the divine channel through which flows the creative infinity of the triodities that crystallize into the galactic panorama of space, forming the backdrop against which unfolds the personality drama of spirit conquering energy-matter through mind's mediation.

Jesus described himself as "the living way" from material self-consciousness to spiritual God-consciousness, and analogously, the Supreme constitutes the living pathway from finite consciousness to transcendence and absonite insight. Just as the Creator Son serves as a living channel from humanity to divinity after personally experiencing the complete traversal of universe progression, the Supreme Being functions as the universe approach to transcending finite limitations. The Supreme embodies and epitomizes all creature evolution, progression, and spiritualization, complementing the experiences of descending personalities from Paradise with the ascending experiences of time pilgrims to create a comprehensive experiential matrix of finite reality.

Mortal humans, made in God's image in terms of universe potentialities, participate in an evolutionary drama paralleling the universe-scale development of Supremacy. As volitional personalities, humans become creative in liaison with their Adjusters, producing the immortal soul. Similarly, Creator Personalities function in liaison with the Paradise Trinity's impersonal spirit, generating new Deity reality potential. Humans consciously grow from material toward spiritual realms through volitional decisions, while simultaneously developing as their Thought Adjusters create new pathways to their souls. This dual growth pattern mirrors the Supreme's expansion, which derives both from Creator Personalities' achievements and from the pre-existent unity of the Paradise Trinity, demonstrating how God the Supreme is simultaneously Creator-evolved, Trinity-derived, self-evolved, and self-derived.

  • 4. The Finite God

As the finite Deity, God the Supreme must address the problems of finitude in the comprehensive sense, coping with the limitations, incompleteness, and developmental necessities inherent to time-space existence. Mortal struggles with temporal vicissitudes reflect the Supreme's own efforts to achieve self-realization and sovereignty completion within his operational domain. Throughout the grand universe, the Supreme Being continuously strives for expression, with his divine evolution partially predicated on the wisdom-actions of every personality in existence, from the humblest to the most exalted.

When a mortal chooses eternal survival, they become a cocreator of destiny, enabling the Supreme to achieve increased self-realization and expanded experiential sovereignty. Conversely, rejection of the eternal career results in deprivation for that portion of the Supreme dependent on the creature's choice, a deficit requiring compensation through substitutional or collateral experience. Though any isolated action of finite parts might seem irrelevant to the Supreme Whole's emergence, the whole remains dependent on the total acts of its myriad parts. Each human personality, though seemingly insignificant against Supremacy's vastness, represents an irreplaceable meaning-value in the finite cosmos; a unique expression that, once manifest, never finds identical expression again except in that personality's ongoing existence.

The relationship between mortals and the Supreme establishes the foundation for cosmic morality: the universal sensitivity to and acceptance of duty. This relationship transcends temporal concepts of relative right and wrong, being predicated instead on the self-conscious creature's appreciation of experiential obligation to experiential Deity. Mortal beings and all finite creatures derive from the living potential of energy, mind, and spirit existent in the Supreme. The Adjuster, with human consent, weaves eternal patterns from the Supreme's reality, creating the immortal finaliter character. The mutual progression of creature evolution and Supreme evolution receives cosmic registration through the mysterious mechanisms of universe reflectivity.

  • 5. The Oversoul of Creation

The Supreme constitutes the cosmic oversoul of the grand universe, a mosaic composite reflecting the vast qualities and quantities of the cosmos in deity nature. As an actualizing Deity, the Supreme embodies a creative will embracing an evolving universe purpose. When creatures submit to the Creator's will, they neither submerge nor surrender their personalities; rather, participants in the Supreme's actualization progressively augment their selfhood. Through divine union, creatures exalt, enrich, and spiritualize their evolving selves to the threshold of supremacy.

The evolving immortal soul, jointly created by the material mind and the Thought Adjuster, ascends to Paradise and eventually becomes allied with the Eternal Son's spirit-gravity circuit through finaliter transcendation. These finaliters potentially achieve triune mind status when they attain the seventh stage of spirit existence, as their human and divine minds become glorified in union with the experiential mind of the actualized Supreme Being. Man does not merge with the Supreme or lose personal identity in this process; rather, the universe repercussions of all human experience form part of the Supreme's divine experiencing, as expressed in the maxim: "The act is ours, the consequences God's."

A progressing personality leaves a trail of actualized reality through the ascending universe levels. When humans act, the Supreme reacts, constituting the fact of progression. However, the great circuits of energy, mind, and spirit never become the permanent possessions of ascending personalities; these ministries remain forever integral to Supremacy. While human intellect functions within the adjutant mind-spirits' rhythmic pulsations, and later utilizes spiritual circuits during universe ascension, these resources are never possessed as part of eternal personality. Instead, these circuits transmit the impersonal repercussions of creature decisions to the Supreme, maintaining a cosmic registration of evolutionary experience.

  • 6. The Quest for the Supreme

We seek the Supreme throughout the universes yet cannot fully locate him in his completed form, for he represents "the within and the without of all things and beings, moving and quiescent... the form of the yet unformed, the pattern of the yet uncreated." The Supreme constitutes our universe home, and discovering him will resemble returning home after a long journey. The Supreme knows us intimately because he embodies both creaturelike and creatorlike qualities, having grown through the experience of divine parenthood just as humans grow through mortal experience.

Genuine desire to find God inevitably involves consciousness of the Supreme, who functions as our divine Mother nurturing us throughout our lives as universe creatures. The Supreme for the finite cosmos parallels what Michael is to Nebadon—the great avenue through which the Father's love flows outward to creation and through which finite creatures pass inward seeking the Father. Even Thought Adjusters, originally Father-like in divinity, become Supreme-like when they experience time-space transactions. Every creature choice to do the Creator's will generates cosmic value immediately registered by some coordinating force, likely the functioning of the ever-expanding Supreme Being.

For evolutionary creatures, there exist seven primary approaches to the Universal Father, each passing through one of the Seven Master Spirits and made possible by an enlargement of experience receptivity following service in superuniverses reflecting that Master Spirit's nature. Despite these pathways, limitations prevent creatures from finding the finite God. These are not only personal limitations but also reflect universe incompletion and the continuing incompletion of all creatures past, present, and future. While individual creatures can find the Father upon attaining divine levels of Godlikeness, none will personally discover the Supreme until that distant time when all creatures simultaneously achieve perfection through universal attainment.

  • 7. The Future of the Supreme

The completed realization of all finite potentials will culminate in the Supreme's final emergence as an almighty Deity presence in the universes. At this juncture of developmental fulfillment, the Supreme will manifest with qualities comparable to other deity expressions: discretely personalized like the Eternal Son, concretely powerized like Paradise Isle, and completely unified like the Conjoint Actor, all within the constraints of finite possibility at the culmination of the present universe age. However, several conceptual problems accompany this future manifestation, including questions about the timing of Supreme supervisors' deitization, the Supreme's functioning in the Trinity Ultimate before complete universe status, and the Supreme's current reality status among the Sevenfold Deity.

Potential explanations for these paradoxes may lie in the supertime convergence at finite's upper limits, where the Supreme potentially forecasts his universe presence onto supertime levels, then reflects this future projection back to created levels as the "Immanence of the Projected Incomplete." Such phenomena appear wherever finite interfaces with superfinite, as evidenced in human experiences with Thought Adjusters, who function as predictions of future universal attainments throughout eternity. Finaliter companies, having sworn allegiance to the Supreme through their Paradise Trinity oath, initially function exclusively under Paradise mandates but eventually acknowledge the jurisdictional authority of perfected local universe governments as these creations begin reflecting the Supreme's emerging sovereignty.

The perfected superuniverses of future epochs will differ dramatically from their current state. No longer will they host the thrilling adventures of organizing galaxies, planting life on uncertain worlds, or evolving harmony from chaos. The time universes will have fulfilled their finite destiny, perhaps warranting a period of rest and relaxation from evolutionary struggle. Yet this respite will prove temporary, as the emerging Deity of God the Ultimate will challenge these perfected citizens just as their evolutionary predecessors were challenged by the quest for the Supreme. The cosmic curtain will reveal the transcendent grandeur of the absonite quest for the Universal Father on those higher levels revealed in the ultimate of creature experience.
